One of my favorite things to do on vacations is to visit local zoos. In South Carolina my family and I went to a zoo that had a walking trail through a marsh. The contrast of the white birds against the myriad of other colors was something that stuck with me. This painting dips its toe into the impressionistic style to recreate the feeling of that moment.
